Meeting Children’s Needs with Specialised Services
At Sunflower Community Supports, we strive to meet diverse needs of children with our specialised services. We run various programs and services to support children with developmental delays and other diagnoses such as Autism, ADHD and intellectual disabilities.
Ours services and programs are aimed at improving children’s social and communication skills as well as their independence.
School Readiness Program
If you would to support your child to transition to primary school seamlessly or you would like them to gain more skills to apply to their current school setting, enrol your child in this 10-week school readiness program developed by our teachers and mental health clinicians. This program is ideal for children under 7 experiencing developmental delays or that have Autism, Intellectual Disability and/or ADHD diagnosis. In small groups of 4, a teacher, counsellor and early childhood educator will help them build social, cognitive, emotional and educational skills to make the transition process easier for them. Social Skills Program
Our social skills programs are designed for young people between the ages of 7 and 13 and 14 and 18 with a mild to moderate disability to support them with improving their social skills in a small group setting. Designed by mental health clinicians, the program runs for 10 weeks and incorporates fun filled activities to engage young people whilst building their communication skills, cognitive skills, emotional regulation skills and confidence. In small groups of 4 a counsellor and early childhood educator will guide our kids through this program, designed in a way that children won’t even know that they are doing therapy, making sure they have fun whilst seamlessly learning principles that will support them to have successful relationships now and in the future.
